Small acts of hope, lasting change.
We bring education, clean water, health care and opportunity to communities across The Gambia — one child, one well, one family at a time. Your support makes it real.
Born in The Gambia, for The Gambia
Sahel Hope Foundation started with a single classroom in a village that had none — built by neighbours, funded by friends, filled with children who had never held a book.
That one room became a movement. Today we dig wells, sponsor schooling, fund women's enterprises and run health outreach across the country. We are Gambian-led and community-rooted: every project begins with the people it serves, and every dalasi is accounted for.
To break the cycle of poverty in The Gambia through education, clean water, health and opportunity — delivered with dignity, owned by the community.
What we do
Education Sponsorship
School fees, uniforms and books for children who would otherwise be left behind. Sponsor a child for a year.
Clean Water Wells
Hand-dug and solar-pump wells that bring safe drinking water to villages walking miles for it today.
Women's Micro-Grants
Small start-up grants and training that turn an idea into a market stall, a garden or a tailoring business.
Health Outreach
Mobile clinics, maternal care and malaria prevention reaching rural communities far from any hospital.
Youth Skills Training
Free vocational training — tailoring, IT, carpentry — giving young people a trade and a future at home.
Food Relief
Emergency food parcels for families hit by failed harvests, flooding or the hungry season.
Why choose us
Every dalasi accounted for
We publish where funds go. Donations reach the field, not overheads — and we'll show you the receipts.
Community-led, always
Every project starts with the people it serves. They help plan it, build it and run it long after we've gone.
Lasting, not temporary
We build wells, schools and skills that outlast us — change a community keeps, not aid it waits for.
Gambian through and through
Founded, staffed and led by Gambians who know these villages because they come from them.

What our customers say
“Before the well, my daughters walked two hours each morning for water and missed school. Now they're in class every day. Sahel Hope changed our village.”
“The micro-grant let me buy a sewing machine and fabric. I now run my own tailoring stall and feed my family. They believed in me.”
“I sponsored a child through Sahel Hope and they send me his school reports every term. Knowing exactly where my money goes means everything.”
Frequently asked questions
How much of my donation reaches the field?+
As close to all of it as possible. Our core costs are covered separately by founding partners, so public donations go directly to wells, school fees, grants and outreach. We publish a breakdown each year.
Can I sponsor a specific child or village?+
Yes. Tell us on WhatsApp and we'll match you with a child or community project. You'll receive updates, school reports or photos so you can see the change you're funding.
How do I donate from outside The Gambia?+
Easily. We accept international transfers and mobile money, and our team will guide you through it. Many of our supporters are in the diaspora giving back home.
Can I volunteer or fundraise for you?+
We'd love that. Whether you can give time, skills or run a fundraiser, message us and we'll find a way for you to help. Every pair of hands counts.
