Three generations of carving, joinery and finishing — in Gambian mahogany, teak and rosewood. Each piece made to order.
My grandfather carved doors for the village mosque. My father made the chairs half of Tendaba still eats at. I learned at their bench, sawdust to the knees, before I could spell my name.
We don't flat-pack. We don't veneer chipboard and call it furniture. Every joint is cut by hand and pegged to last past all of us.
To make pieces a family argues over inheriting — not ones they throw away.
Seats eight. Single-slab top, hand-planed, oiled to a deep glow.
Teak frame with woven seat. Carries the family crest if you wish.
Hand-turned, oil-finished. The one that outlasts every plastic chair.
Dovetailed mahogany with brass fittings. Cedar-lined against insects.
Custom relief — name, proverb or pattern, carved to order.
Offcut hardwood, food-safe oil. No two grains alike.
Mahogany, teak and rosewood — never veneer, never chipboard.
Mortise-and-tenon joinery. No flat-pack screws to work loose.
Crack, wobble or scratch — bring it back and we'll set it right.
Pick the wood, the size and the carving. We build to your room.
“Our dining table will go to my daughter, then hers. You don't say that about furniture from a shop.”
“I sent a sketch on WhatsApp. What arrived was better than I drew. True craftsmen.”
Small pieces, 1–2 weeks. A dining table or chest, 4–6 weeks — each is built by hand from rough timber. We send progress photos on WhatsApp as it comes together.
Yes. Send photos and rough measurements and we'll match the wood, finish and proportions as closely as the grain allows.
We deliver and place anywhere in The Gambia. Greater Banjul is free; upcountry is at cost. Large pieces come with two of us to carry.
